Good Afternoon, As students finished with their Forward State testing this week, we ended our week with a class treat to celebrate the hard work and efforts all year, and that we are done with state testing! It can be a very stressful time, but understanding that the test can not measure all of the amazing things that make all of the students so special. It has been such a joy to watch the growth made over the year by everyone, and I am going to cherish every day we get to be together here in school in the month of May. Week in Review: Math: Students completed their Forward testing in math this week, and also had a couple lessons where they had to work through some tricky language in word problems to solve what the question was asking them. Writing: Students started to study adaptations made to fairy tales, and by the end of the week started writing their own adaptations to either 3 Billy Goats Gruff or Little Red Riding Hood. The storytelling and acting going on in the classroom was

Good Afternoon, As we wrap up the week, I wanted to just say just how proud I am of all the students for their hard work and efforts throughout this school year. Testing can be a very nervous, draining time, and we started this week off by having a whole class conversation about the worries and fears we had before starting testing. We had concluded that talk with the fact that I had nothing else I could teach them that could prepare them to do their best; that all of the hard work and effort they put in all year made them as prepared as they possibly could be, and it got to the time where they get to show off all their knowledge and growth! It truly is amazing to see all the growth that takes place with everyone, and I just want that to be celebrated because they are doing amazing things every day! Week in Review: Math: Students started their LAST math unit of the year this week! This unit doesn't have any new learning you could say, but rather focuses on including math they have

It was great so see all the excitement among everyone, and to have everyone here with us at school made it truly a special week!  Week in Review: Math: Students worked hard this week leading up to their unit test, and ended their week making any test corrections to help solidify their learning for the unit! Writing: Writers have been learning some different grammar strategies to help them improve their spelling in their writing. They also loved the time they were able to work on their independent writing projects! Reading: Readers continued to learn some new test taking tips, and were able to sign in and see the practice test so they know what to expect when testing starts next week! A Look Ahead: Wisconsin Forward Exam; Tuesday and Thursday, April 20th and 22nd.      These exam can be stressful, so it is important to make sure kids get

Good Afternoon, I hope everyone had a nice week back as we transitioned from our mini break here at school. This time of year is always a time where the excitement of spring/summer is in full effect for the kids. I will do my best to try and make sure that if their is a night where the weather is going to be favorable to make sure the students have the option to not do their homework that night, and can exchange it for playing outside. We talked this week as a class that with less than 2 months of school remaining we want to make sure we end the school year strong; when we are here and learning we are putting forth out best effort so we can continue to build on all the learning we have gained so far, but setting us up for a successful summer and transition into 4th grade! Week in Review:  Math: The students learned all the components of shapes and angles at the 3rd grade level, and did an excellent job of using math talk to talk through new concepts. It was a great week of growth! Wri
