15 Weeks of 3rd Grade Done!

Good Afternoon,      As we wrapped up our final full week of learning for the year 2020, we talked about how much we have accomplished and grown so far this year. It's been almost every adjective this year for many reasons, with good days and bad days, but we know one of the most important thing is we have all of us here together through it all which we are all thankful for this year!     Week in Review:     Math: We had our quick quiz for unit 2 which everyone did so well on! Students are engaged, and eager to learn daily!     Writing: Students have been working hard on preparing their persuasive speeches, and they drafted them out today! The power of writing using their voices is a great life lesson to see everyday.     Reading: We finished another class mystery, and students learned that all of the strong reading skills and strategies they practiced in mystery works for all fiction reading!     A Look Ahead: Monday, December 21st: Pajama and Stuffed Animal Day Tuesday, December

Good Morning, As we head into our final full week of school for the year of 2020, reflect on where we were back in March to where we are now. A lot has happened since that time, and I know I don't take for granted that we Get To come to school everyday, and this year has been so much fun teaching with such amazing students and families to work with, so thank you for your continued support as we progress in our learning journey. Week in Review: Math: Students have been working really hard on facts, and new learning within our unit. Everyday is truly a learning process, and we are understanding especially early on in a unit not everything comes to us as fast as we would like, and that is OK!  Writing: Opinion writing is off and running, and students have done a tremendous job of not only producing writing, but understanding they have a voice and this is a way to make it heard to be a change agent in the world! Reading: Mysteries are being solved everyday, and we are looking forward

Good Afternoon, The days continue to fly by here at school as we progress on our learning journey this school year. We talk a lot in class about the learning process, and what that means; learning a little each day and building on what we have already learned. Then along the way of the process we see truly just how much growth we make if we have that mindset, and I am very proud of the student's daily efforts to push for continued growth in the learning process. Week in Review: Math: Students celebrated the end of the unit with some fun, interactive math games as we began to transition to our next unit in the last couple of days. Writing: Students have begun their opinion writing unit. We have a lot of writers that are motivated the change the world with their writing! Reading: Nothing is getting past this class of detectives as we are in a deep dive into our mystery books, and the readers are doing a tremendous job! Content: Students worked on passion projects this week! They use
