Goodbye Week 4!

 Good Afternoon,

This has been a week that I know I won't forget. The thing I will remember is how gracious and open all of you were to make the virtual learning transition as smooth as possible, and I am extremely thankful for that. If there are things that you are concerned about in terms of virtual learning for this next week, please let me know and we will work together to make sure we can set up everyone to have continued success.

Here are a few updates I can share with you:

Picture Day for our class will be the scheduled make up date which is November 11th. You can send picture form backs before then and I can keep them at school.

Our scheduled return to classroom date is October 5th.

Content Update:

Math: This week we worked on exploring multidigit addition and discussed different addition methods. We discussed how having multiple strategies to use when working in math helps us be able to process and make sense of what is being asked.

Writing: Students are in the writing process of developing realistic fiction stories. These stories have seemed to have been a great transition for students to be able to use their imagination along with using the skills we have learned in narrative stories making it a great blend!

Reading: We discovered how to lift the level of our predictions along with giving strong retells of the stories we are reading. In small groups, we talked about what are some specific things we should have in our retells; along with understanding that if our retells are strong we are demonstrating a strong comprehension of the stories we are reading!

Have a Great Weekend!
