Good Afternoon, As we approach the midway point of November with Thanksgiving break around the corner it's a great time to stop and reflect on the learning journey so far. With conferences happening I always enjoy this time because it allows us the time to reflect on the journey so far, and the progress we want to continue to strive for going forward. Everyone has so much to be proud of in their child, and I am thankful to be on this learning journey with all of them. Week in Review: In math, we are approaching the end of our unit working with multiplication and division. Students are working hard understanding what the problem is asking us to come up with in terms of an equation, then solving that equation. The math talk has been great, and the confidence is growing in everyone as they work to master these concepts. Our writers are working extremely hard to show off their expertise in the topic they chose for their informational books. As we begin the writing process again ...
Good Afternoon, As we head into next week with only two school days before Thanksgiving break, I hope everyone is able to take some time to do things they love with family and friends. This time of the year can feel stressful with so many "things" going on, but I hope every one is able to enjoy the time. Thank you for everyone for your time during conferences as I love being able to connect with everyone, and talk about all the great things students are doing daily. I am extremely thankful to be able to have students back in person, and is one thing I have learned in the past year that is a classroom is nothing without the joy and curiosity students bring into it every day. Thank you for all of your time and support, and hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving break. Week in Review: Writing: Writers concluded their informational writing units where they taught about topics that they were passionate, and had lots of knowledge on. Good Afternoon, As we complete the first week of May it dawned on me that group of 3rd graders is in the final month of a school year that was considered "normal" since they were in kindergarten. To not only reflect back on this past school year, and the growth that has been made, but thinking back over the last two school years where this group of students has grown is phenomenal. Studies say students who are 3rd graders this school year were the students most affected by the pandemic in their schooling because of the age and timing they went through it at. Considering all the growth students have made that time is tremendous, but I think it goes to show how resilient and persistent this group of students will always be, and their growth this year is evident of that. I am so proud of all of them, and looking forward to making the most of our time we have left this school year. Week in Review: Writing: Writers took on some serious revision work in their realistic fiction st...
