Another March Week Gone!

 Good Afternoon,

As we are heading towards spring, with warmer weather and more sunlight, and conferences next week it is a great time to stop for reflection. I always look forward to conferences because of that reflection time of where we are at, and celebrating all the growth that has been made with goals still in mind for the future. It has been a school year unlike any other, but it is important to offer yourself grace, and know that the students are doing great work everyday pushing themselves to grow both academically and as a person.

Week In Review:

Math: Students finished up their math unit with a Jeopardy Review and unit test, and celebrated their learning and growth with a Math Gameday on Friday!

Writing: Writers are wrapping up their informational writing unit, and will be doing interviews to talk about how much they have grown as a writer from their first informational writing to the end of their third book they just finished!

Reading: Readers ended their informational reading unit, and created exhibit signs to showcase their research they completed on their animals with their research clubs!

A Look Ahead:

Conferences are next week! Here is the link to the conference survey if you haven't had a chance to fill it out yet!

If you are wondering what time your conference is at: here is the link to the schedule!

Here is the link for the Google Meet that you will use for the conference. If you happen to join early, and the previous conference is still happening, I will just put you in a "breakout room" until the conference beforehand finishes. Here's to hoping for no technical difficulties!

We are again doing an online Book Fair during conferences!  The book fair will run from March 23-April 5.  Here is the link to the fair!

Students will have their Protective Behaviors Lesson on Tuesday; letters were sent home a few weeks ago. If you have any questions, feel free to email our Counselors Ashley Duda or Hannah Van Sickle! (dudaa@kaukaunasd.org  / vansickleh@kaukaunasd.org )

State testing will be happening in April, and students will begin their test prep unit to help them prepare next week!

Have a Great Weekend!

Mr. VW
