Another Week of Growing Completed!
Good Afternoon,
As we approach the halfway point in the school year with this past week seeing us completing a lot of testing whether that be math unit assessments, math mid-year assessments, i-Ready assessments, or even end of writing unit assessments! It has been a busy stretch indeed, but the one thing I love is the kids resiliency even during a long, tiring stretch. We always talk about two things we can control and expect of ourselves everyday with the first being our attitude, and the second being our effort. I am so proud of every single student for their effort and attitude, and look forward to what growth we all continue to make in the second half of the year!
Week in Review:
Math: Students completed their Unit 2 and Mid-Year assessments, as well as their Winter Math i-Ready> The results demonstrate what I have been seeing in the classroom as they persevered through a busy week in math as we look forward to our next unit starting next week.
Writing: The writers completed their final opinion piece of the unit, as we will dive into our next unit with it being focused around writing Baby Literary Essays!
Reading: Readers completed their Winter i-Ready while also continuing to understand strategies on getting to know a character to help us make stronger theories and predictions in our reading.
A Look Ahead:
Next Friday, January 22nd is a Half Day. Dismissal is at 11:28.
Monday, January 25th is a NO School Day for students.
Celebrate NDLC Week is January 26th-29th. Expect a flyer coming home next week on Dress Up Days for the week!
Hope Everyone has an enjoyable Weekend,
Mr. VW
