Snowy Cold Week Couldn't Slow The Class Down!

 Good Afternoon,

As we head into a weekend after another full week of learning, I write this update to you so proud of all the students. The resiliency they have shown when things get difficult, or persevering to do their best work no matter what the subject, but the camaraderie and family feel of helping each other while also making sure we are all looking after each other. This year has been a year where I have seen this class really grow in a lot of areas, but the area of looking out after each other I really saw this week (family atmosphere) and I just want to share that everyone should be very proud of your child for their continued growth this year.

Week in Review:

Math: This week the mathematicians worked with time whether that be telling the time on a digital clock, calculating elapsed time, or figuring out how many minutes before or after the hour it may be they pushed themselves to really understand these brand new concepts!

Writing: The literary essayists are starting to hit their strides with understanding what they need to have in their work plans to have a well-written essay as they wrote essays on stories they wanted to write about!

Reading: Readers are really diving into their books, and pushing their thinking whether that be in their jots (writing about reading) or their conversations about the books they are reading!

A Look Ahead:

  • Penny Drive February 16th-19th for Pillars Warming Shelter.
  • No School February 12th and 15th.
  • Dress Up Days: Sheet will be sent home with February Days.
    • Wednesday the 10th: Dress like you're 100 for 100 days of school!
    • Thursday the 11th: Red and Pink Day!
Have a Great Weekend!

Mr. VW
