Thanksgiving Week
Good Afternoon,
As we head into next week with only two school days before Thanksgiving break, I hope everyone is able to take some time to do things they love with family and friends. This time of the year can feel stressful with so many "things" going on, but I hope every one is able to enjoy the time. Thank you for everyone for your time during conferences as I love being able to connect with everyone, and talk about all the great things students are doing daily. I am extremely thankful to be able to have students back in person, and is one thing I have learned in the past year that is a classroom is nothing without the joy and curiosity students bring into it every day. Thank you for all of your time and support, and hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving break.
Week in Review:
Writing: Writers concluded their informational writing units where they taught about topics that they were passionate, and had lots of knowledge on. We will transition to a Changing the World unit working on persuasive writing!
Math: Our mathematicians are continuing to work with multiplication and division concepts learning strategies to gain a strong understanding of the two math operations!
Reading: Readers are finishing their nonfiction reading unit where they have learned strategies for reading for main ideas, supporting details, as well as how to read biographies and narrative nonfiction. After break they will begin their mystery unit, which is always a class favorite!
Leader in Me: Students learned how to begin with the end in mind, habit 2. They played a game 'Race to the Finish' where they had to get a ball from one side of the room to the other without using their hands, arms or feet, and it had to stay between them and their partner! Check out some photos of our game here!
A Look Ahead:
- No school November 24th-26th
- Kwik Trip Cards can be purchased through a slip being sent home today
