8 weeks in the wagon!

Eight! 8 weeks of school in, and November right around the corner, can it be? As the dark days of winter loom, we are making our room as bright as we can with the learning and connections happening every day. It's important that we continue to be a light for each other as we navigate this year together, and I am so proud of all the students taking on that light not only for themselves but for their peers making every day the best it can possibly be!

Week in Review:

In Math this week, we were working hard on the nuts and bolts of multiplication and division. A lot of great learning and math talk throughout the week, and it was reflected in their first quick quiz of the new unit with some spectacular scores showing off their learning!

Our writers have taken the shift to writing informational books in tremendous stride, and are using their strategies to really be an effective information writer. Keep an eye out on Seesaw for their information books to be shared out coming soon!

Reading saw our readers keep their minds revved up for reading nonfiction. We discussed different ways that readers can learn from expository texts, and that we are becoming experts on topics every single time we pick up a nonfiction book to read!

A look Ahead:

Dress Up Days Next Week: Monday-Wear Sweats...Tuesday-Flannel/Plaid Wear...Wednesday-Costumes/Orange Wear.

No School for students: Thursday October 29th and Friday October 30th.

Have a Great Weekend,

Mr. VW
