9 Weeks of Spooktacular Learning is Complete!
Good Afternoon,
We finished up our short week doing some Halloween themed activities, and building classroom community! It has been a great start to the year with everyone, and I am so thankful for the support from all of you. The students have been absolutely tremendous to work with everyday, and I am proud of all the learning and growing both academically and socially we have made heading into our fall break!
Week in Review:
Math: Students have been continuing to work hard with multiplication and division, with this week a focus being on multiplying and dividing with both 10 and 9!
Writing: Our writers have been drafting, and starting to revise their informational books. We have so many experts on such a wide range of topics in the classroom it is impressive to see them show off their knowledge!
Reading: We have continued to work in nonfiction texts with an emphasis on letting the texts we are reading spark conversations with others, and also having conversations in our mind while reading to help track all the information we are taking in. Also, continuing to understand the importance of grasping the main idea and supporting details of what we are reading.
A Look Ahead:
No School October 29th and 30th.
Tuesday November 3rd: Wear Red, White, and Blue!
Friday November 6th: Wear NDLC gear
Wednesday November 11th: Picture Day for our Class!
Lastly, conferences are being held virtually this year on November 12th and November 17th. You can sign up for a time slot here!!
Enjoy the Fall Break,
Mr. VW
