Another Month of School Done, How?!?

 Good Afternoon,

This past week it really hit me we are actually closer to the end of the school year, than we are to the beginning. Sometimes you get so caught up in the daily work and the learning process of the school year, that it hits you when you walk outside and feel the air, or see the snow melting, or hear students ask you if they have to wear their snow gear since it is SO HOT outside. The class has persevered through the year, and have been working hard daily that when you stop and look up it amazes you how much time has gone by, and how much growth has been made. I am really looking forward to these final months of school to see how much growth we can continue to make, and continuing to be our best self every single day.

Week in Review:

Math: The mathematicians finished another unit of math, and worked on corrections to solidify their learning of the unit. They participated in some new math games to finish up their week, and celebrate their hard work.

Writing: Writers planned out and drafted chapters to add into informational books based off of their research they were doing in reading. The writers were working to use their writers craft to not only inform their reader, but also have their voice included in their writing.

Reading: Students researched and became experts on their animal topics, while also learning the skills of group work and strong nonfiction reading! They will embark on a new animal topic next week.

A Look Ahead:

Next week is Read Across America Week. Here are the Dress Up Days to Celebrate:

  • Tuesday - USA Colors
  • Wednesday - Cozy Wear Day
  • Friday -  NDLC Wear
Thursday, March 4th is Virtual Math Family night from 5:30-6:30.

Hope you all have a great weekend!
