Another Fall Week has Past!

 Good Afternoon,

We have completed our final full week in October which is extremely hard to believe. We celebrated an end of unit in science with a field trip on Monday to Little Farmer. Here are some pictures from that day in case you missed them earlier in the week. Students have been working very hard in all areas, and I can tell that with the weather changes, and going a long stretch of days here without an extended break that the students are more than ready for their fall break next week. I am extremely proud of the growth that they have made up to this point, and looking forward to building on it both academically and socially.

Week in Review:

Writing: Writers are working on their first informational books, and will transition to different topics to write their 2nd book next week! We will have lots of new books to teach our readers about a variety of topics.

Math: Students did an excellent job in their first week in Multiplication, and gave an update to their learning on Seesaw! Be sure to check out what they had to say after their first week!

Reading: Readers have been working hard mastering the skill of identifying the main idea in a non fiction book or article, as well as learning some new vocabulary words in the unit. They are becoming experts on so many topics!

Leader in Me: Our class learned about being a Transition Person - someone who models leadership through a proactive behavior. Ask your child, "What does it mean to be a transition person?"

Content: Researchers began their unit on studying maps, and globes with great excitement around the new topic.
