Halftime of December School Days
Good Afternoon,
This past week has been a week where I was extremely thankful to be able to come into school, and see students that were filled with joy, curiosity, and make the classroom feel like a second home. The students had a substitute teacher yesterday as I was out for a family funeral, but it made me realize the daily joy they bring to me as we all work daily to try and grow both socially and academically. I wanted to just say thank you for your continued support this school year, and I am looking forward to ending the calendar year with great momentum that will help lead students to continued success after the new year.
Week in Review:
Writing: Writers have been developing opinions that they are supporting with various reasons and examples to make them as strong as possible. We will continue this work to try and make a change in our world with the power we have with our writing.
Math: Students are wrapping up our unit working with multiplication and division concepts, and will have our unit assessment next week!
Reading: Our mystery readers are building volume by getting through books reading lots of pages, and have been working hard on their "detective skills" where they are building strong reading skills and strategies.
Leader in Me: Our class talked about the importance of weekly planning. Ask your child, "Why is weekly planning important?"
Content: Students have been learning and being able to do various activities learning concepts related to forces and motion, and how they go together!
