KAT WEEK NEXT WEEK!

Good Afternoon,

As we completed our final week in the month of February, we have lots of exciting things as we head into the month of March. Our look ahead below will tell more about the exciting things coming up at NDLC. This past week a student came up to me, and said they feel like their brain is really getting bigger because they are learning so much in 3rd grade. We cover so many different things in 3rd grade, and when I say weekly that the students are making so much growth daily is because it is true! They have been working so hard daily, setting goals, and persevering in their learning, and I am extremely proud of their efforts and attitudes to learn every day.

Week in Review:

Writing: Writers have been taking their research from reading to begin planning to write their own informational books about the animal they are doing research on. This week was about learning to grow ideas, and planning to get ready to draft their ideas next week!

Math: Students worked this week with graphs and analyzing data on different kinds of graphs. They conducted their own data to end the week about shoe sizes in the room, and are becoming fantastic data analysists.

Reading: Readers are working on research in clubs on animals they decided on with their groups. Readers are studying specific subtopics, and working on reading for the main ideas becoming experts on these animals!

Leader in Me: Students applied for new classroom jobs with the beginning of the month next week!

Content: Students began their science learning again, and with an emphasis on stormy skies and weather. Today, 3rd graders had the great privilege of learning from Mr. Haen (Rhyser's dad) to teach us even more about our learning about Native Americans!

A Look Ahead:
  • KAT WEEK Next Week!
    • White KAT envelopes can be turned in any time next week.
    • KAT will be held on Friday, with a celebration to follow in class.
    • Dress Up Days will be going on all week for those interested:

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Mr. VW
