That's All for Week 12!

 Good Afternoon, 12 weeks of learning in, and looking forward to the continued growth as we continue on in our learning journey. I enjoyed connecting with all of you over conferences, and it truly is a great experience for me as we work together to make sure I am doing everything I can for your child, so thank you for taking the time. Week in Review: Math: Today we practiced a unit review with our unit test coming up next week. The students have been working very hard on their multiplication and division, and we all feel ready to take on the challenge of the unit test! Writing: Students are wrapping up their second informational book as we start to prepare for our next writing unit which is persuasive speeches! Reading: Our detectives are in their mystery books working to solve mysteries and conquer the comprehension skills that these books require us to do! 11 Weeks of our Learning Journey Completed!

 Good Afternoon, As we approach the midway point of November with Thanksgiving break around the corner it's a great time to stop and reflect on the learning journey so far. With conferences happening I always enjoy this time because it allows us the time to reflect on the journey so far, and the progress we want to continue to strive for going forward. Everyone has so much to be proud of in their child, and I am thankful to be on this learning journey with all of them.  Week in Review: In math, we are approaching the end of our unit working with multiplication and division. Students are working hard understanding what the problem is asking us to come up with in terms of an equation, then solving that equation. The math talk has been great, and the confidence is growing in everyone as they work to master these concepts. Our writers are working extremely hard to show off their expertise in the topic they chose for their informational books. As we begin the writing process again ...

10 Weeks of Connected Learning!

 Good Afternoon, It has been a great week of virtual learning, and I say that because of how resilient the students are everyday. They continue to show up every day ready, and eager to learn; it truly is a testament to the all of you, so thank you for your continued support, and investment in your child's learning! 9 Weeks of Spooktacular Learning is Complete!

 Good Afternoon, We finished up our short week doing some Halloween themed activities, and building classroom community! It has been a great start to the year with everyone, and I am so thankful for the support from all of you. The students have been absolutely tremendous to work with everyday, and I am proud of all the learning and growing both academically and socially we have made heading into our fall break! Week in Review:  Math: Students have been continuing to work hard with multiplication and division, with this week a focus being on multiplying and dividing with both 10 and 9! Writing: Our writers have been drafting, and starting to revise their informational books. We have so many experts on such a wide range of topics in the classroom it is impressive to see them show off their knowledge! Reading: We have continued to work in nonfiction texts with an emphasis on letting the texts we are reading spark conversations with others, and also having conversations in our mi...

8 weeks in the wagon!

Eight! 8 weeks of school in, and November right around the corner, can it be? As the dark days of winter loom, we are making our room as bright as we can with the learning and connections happening every day. It's important that we continue to be a light for each other as we navigate this year together, and I am so proud of all the students taking on that light not only for themselves but for their peers making every day the best it can possibly be! Week in Review:  In Math this week, we were working hard on the nuts and bolts of multiplication and division. A lot of great learning and math talk throughout the week, and it was reflected in their first quick quiz of the new unit with some spectacular scores showing off their learning! Our writers have taken the shift to writing informational books in tremendous stride, and are using their strategies to really be an effective information writer. Week 7 is knocked out of the park!

 Good Afternoon, Our 2020/2021 school year is 7 weeks gone already, and I am so proud of the learning and community that is happening in our classroom daily. The students have come ready to learn everyday with great attitudes, and it is a testament to all of you at home being that positive role models for your child's learning. I am extremely grateful for that, and our opportunity to be in the classroom learning daily! Week in Review: Math: We finished up our first unit which was adding and subtracting within 3 digit numbers, and have started our learning of our next unit. This next unit we start to explore multiplication, and the first couple days the students energy and eagerness to learn has laid a great foundation for them as we begin this new learning! Writing: Students finished up their narrative unit of writing true stories. The growth from the beginning of the unit to the end was tremendous in all of the writers, which is a great celebration!  Good Afternoon, It is truly amazing to me that we have 6 weeks of school in. The idea that we have been able to make this work both in person, and virtually is a credit to everyone. It truly is a team effort, and I am so thankful for your continued to support as we navigate this learning journey together, where the most important thing always is the kids, and I will continue to do my very best for your child as week keep moving on this school year.  Week in Review: Math: We are approaching the end of our first unit. Students have persevered and really pushed themselves in math, and have understood math doesn't come as quick as we would like sometimes; If we work together and persevere we can accomplish great learning!
